I will be showing 3 different hand applique methods. When I was introduced to hand applique, I didn’t care for it at first, but later, I was shown another way that I enjoyed better. Students will get to try each method on a small sample provided by the teacher to get a feel for which style feels best to them. This pattern has larger applique pieces with gentle turns, which makes it a great beginner applique project. If I can’t convert you to hand applique, no worries, the pattern was originally writeen for machine applique with fusible web, so you can always fall back to that. I will talk a little about thread, needle and glue choices.
BOGO CLASS: I will demonstrate creative grids “Log Cabin Trim Tool” in the 8″ size. It is my FAVORITE way of making happy little, perfecly square, cabin blocks. YOU will LOVE it! Warning though . . . they become addicting! I have taught this before as a class on it’s own, but it’s so great to share more stuff with students. Even if you’re not interested in the applique technique, learning how simple and fun this tool is would be worth taking the class!
