Description: This stunning quilt designed by Edyta Sitar of “Laundry Basket Quilts” is a great opportunity to learn precision-piecing skills. It is a fun quilt to make and with such beautiful colors, it kept my interest high. We’ll learn some tricks to keeping those seams and points precise and also get some practice in color placement to complete the ombre-look of this quilt. It’s not as difficult as it looks.
You can pick your own fabrics or Laundry Basket Quilts sells a kit online. I purchased a fabric bundle to complete my color scheme.
Fabric Requirements:
31 Fat Eighths
2 yards light fabric
3 yards medium-light fabric
Larger ruler for cutting fabric strips (12″ x 12″ or 6″ x 12″)
Small ruler of your choice for squaring up your flying geese. There are lots of options out there. If you feel extravagant or think you’ll do more tiny piecing, then I’d recommend the Block Loc flying geese ruler finished size 1″ x 2″. Honestly, any small ruler can be used, I’ll teach you how!
Spray Starch (I much prefer “Magic” spray)
If you have a portable iron – I’d recommend bringing it along with your ironing surface.
Cutting mat
Rotary Cutter
Basic Sewing Kit
